Welcome to the RAOB Website

The Order (the R.A.O.B.) dates its origin, with reasonable accuracy and proof, to the year 1822 in London, England. The Grand Lodge of Queensland, under the Grand Lodge of England, was formed on 13th April 1927 and has been based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, for most of its life.

In Queensland, there are approximately sixty Lodges and Degree bodies currently operating throughout the State, from Cairns in the North, to Mt. Isa in the West, to the Gold Coast in the South, with one Lodge in the Northern Territory, at Tennant Creek, coming under the jurisdiction of Queensland.

The G.L.E. Banner in Queensland is one which is noted for its good fellowship and charitable work, both within the Order and to worthy outside projects. Most Lodges conduct regular social functions at which the wives, partners and families of members are invited to enjoy the company of other families. These types of get-togethers do much to strengthen the ties between Lodge members.
